Private clinics across the country will be able to deliver personalized diagnoses and treatments through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies. This is a digital transformation program for the members of the Association of Private Clinics of Greece (SIKE), who will receive free services from the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) Health Hub.
As stated by the President of SIKE, Ms. Vanessa Delichristou, “our collaboration with Health Hub marks a decisive step toward upgrading healthcare services in Greece’s private clinics.”
“We are strengthening our infrastructure with modern tools and leveraging Artificial Intelligence to offer more targeted and effective treatments to our patients,” she explained.
What changes in patient care
SIKE clinics will be able to use a virtual reality toolkit for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and for optimizing anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) surgeries.
Members of the association will also gain access to advanced AI algorithms to predict the risk of chronic diseases and detect rare conditions.
At the same time, clinic staff will have the opportunity to develop digital skills through training seminars delivered by the University of the Aegean and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Digital transformation in healthcare is imperative but delayed, experts explain
“Digital transition is no longer a luxury but a necessity,” stated the President of SIKE, emphasizing that the association “will be at the forefront of this transition.”
According to Ms. Maria Pournari, Chief Operations Officer of Health Hub, “as patient care demands and needs continue to grow and evolve, the use of new technologies and artificial intelligence has become essential.”
“At the same time, digital transformation in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors in Greece has already fallen significantly behind,” she explained. As she noted, the goal of Health Hub is “to support startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, large companies, as well as public and private organizations.”
“The services offered by the Hub are completely free of charge, as they are funded by the Competitiveness Programme (NSRF) 2021–2027 and the European Union,” Ms. Pournari emphasized.
Beyond training and access to digital tools, Health Hub offers a broad range of services. The Hub supports beneficiaries in attracting investments, securing funding from European programmes, testing solutions before investment, and engaging in targeted networking.
