Success Stories from Health Hub: How WellBerry Strengthens the Digital Evolution of Healthcare with the Hub’s Support

Today, Health Hub announces a new publication series through which our team shares success stories from the Hub’s work. In this first success story, the spotlight is on the startup WellBerry. It is a digital platform that addresses a critical gap in the healthcare ecosystem: connecting healthcare providers with preventive patient care through technology.

WellBerry’s founder, Giorgos Varitis, spoke to Health Hub about the company’s work and the importance of collaborating with the Hub for its growth. Describing the services WellBerry provides, he noted: “We have developed a digital solution that supports the growth of private medical centers and strengthens patients’ engagement with preventive medicine.” “Through our platform, we give healthcare providers the tools they need to achieve digital transformation. As for patients, by using our app they can receive personalized recommendations for preventive screenings based on their profile, thereby reducing the likelihood of developing a chronic condition that could have been prevented.”

Collaboration with Health Hub: Acceleration, guidance, and access to investment

Through the Hub’s free services, the WellBerry team was able to move faster and more strategically. “Our decision to collaborate with Health Hub was critical in helping us achieve milestones that would have taken much longer otherwise,” Varitis explains.

As he noted, with Health Hub’s support, WellBerry “accelerated market validation through communication with potential customers, received guidance from industry experts, and approached investment funds.” “The Health Hub team stood by us throughout this process—and we are very grateful for that. We would definitely recommend other startups to pursue collaboration with the Hub as well,” Varitis emphasized.

From research to market: WellBerry’s participation in Health2Innovation

WellBerry’s participation in the European Health2Innovation project, with the support of Health Hub, was an important step in maturing its business proposition.

According to Varitis, “the goal of the project is to connect interdisciplinary research with the market,” enabling WellBerry to gain valuable experience in international collaboration as well as meaningful business guidance. “Within Health2Innovation, we had the opportunity to collaborate with startuppers from other European countries, propose real business cases, and receive valuable mentoring from experts, even on issues related to regulatory compliance,” he explains.

The project’s bootcamp at Smile Venture Hub proved to be a pivotal moment for WellBerry. As Varitis stated: “It was a unique experience. On the one hand, we found ourselves in one of the most important clusters in the health sector and saw how innovative startups operate up close. On the other hand, we presented our efforts to professionals from across Europe, received feedback, and gained practical advice on how to overcome potential challenges.”

What’s next for WellBerry

The year 2025 marked a milestone for WellBerry, laying the foundations for the next major step, as the platform is set to be enhanced in the near future with medical validation and artificial intelligence.

“2025 laid the groundwork for the growth we are aiming for in 2026. Within the first quarter, we will be in a position to announce our collaboration with certified physicians—under whose guidance we have scientifically validated our solution—and to integrate artificial intelligence into our services,” Varitis noted.

He added: “At the same time, we are excited that in the coming months we will have the opportunity to receive feedback from real users through pilot programs we have designed. Given that we now know the need exists and that our solution is at a very strong technological level, we feel ready to carry out the official launch of the platform within the next few weeks.”
