To address the diverse needs of the health and pharmaceutical ecosystem, Health Hub partners—the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF), through its Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB), and the Lifelong Learning Programmes of the Centre for Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) at the University of the Aegean—now offer new opportunities for both professional training and specialised support. These services are provided free of charge to SMEs and public organisations.
Two New Training Programmes from Health Hub
Gene Expression Analysis in Health and Biomedical Research: Introduction, Data and Tools
Health Hub partners have launched a new training programme entitled “Gene Expression Analysis in Health and Biomedical Research: Introduction, Data and Tools.”
The programme is designed for researchers, healthcare professionals, business executives and anyone interested in gaining a comprehensive understanding of how gene expression data is used in modern biomedical research.
Participants are introduced to the fundamental principles of gene expression, the latest technologies used to generate gene expression data and the key tools for analysing it. They also learn how these data can support biomarker discovery, drug development and a better understanding of complex diseases.
Combining theoretical knowledge with practical examples, the programme provides participants with the foundations needed to explore one of the most dynamic fields in contemporary biomedical science.
Drug Discovery and Development: From Design to Clinical Trials
Responding to the growing needs of the health and pharmaceutical sector, the two Health Hub partners have also developed the new programme “Drug Discovery and Development: From Design to Clinical Trials.”
The programme covers the entire drug development journey—from early-stage research and drug design to clinical trials and the evaluation of safety and efficacy. It also explores how artificial intelligence is reshaping pharmaceutical R&D by accelerating development processes and helping reduce failure rates.
Programme Design, Delivery and Registration
Both programmes are delivered online and asynchronously, allowing participants to study at their own pace and according to their own schedule. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate issued through the Lifelong Learning Programmes of the Centre for Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the University of the Aegean.
The programmes have been designed and are delivered under the scientific supervision of Professor Emerita Chrysi Vitsilaki of the University of the Aegean. Academic responsibility lies with Dr. Niki Chondrogianni, Research Director at the Institute of Chemical Biology (ICB), National Hellenic Research Foundation, and Dr. Konstantinos Voutetakis, Member of the Special Scientific and Technical Staff of the ICB/NHRF.
